Interesting Aircraft Profile Site
« on: March 24, 2012, 07:52:04 PM »
While looking for info on the F-105B's flown by the Thunderbirds, I came across this page; http://aircraftart.purpleglen.com/index.html

The work of an aviation artist, with profiles of many different aircraft. The site has a definite focus on Canadian subjects, including numerous "what-if" schemes, see a couple of samples below. Looks like it's time for a few more repaints!

Thanks for posting this!

yes, seems this guy is an ex-Canadian, and he has a big interest in Canadian aircraft
and Canadian "what if" aircraft.
But theres plenty of US and other aircraft.

And he's got other "what if" aircraft, like the NA Sonic Cruiser.
...a Passenger version of the XB-70 Valkyrie!

His art style is very clean and uncluttered by a lot of technical detail.
He concentrates more on the colours, graphics and markings.
Although I have difficulty seeing some of the white aircraft against the white backgrounds?

...
Just a note to all who use these Profile Artworks...
they should be used as visual reference only.
Please don't take these images/artworks and use them for Cover or Page art in your models.
Not unless you are going to contact the artist and ask his permission first.
