Well... I didn't put it. I just painted the back of the frame with metallic Sharpie. But again, I'm not sure I did it for all of them, I have to take a look.

Another new addition to the P-51D collection,
this time its a "What if?" fantasy paint scheme.

I know there are a lot of Blue Angels Team fans.
Just imagine if there had been a Navy version of the Mustang
or the Air Force plane had somehow made the crossover?

Model comes with all the same details as any of my P-51Ds:
landing gear, recessed wheel wells, full cockpit, etc
Its also got three sets of Rudder/Tail with different team numbers so you can build a formation!

Its in the store now!

Two new Mustang kits on their way to the store right now!

By special request: a Thunderbirds "What if?" paint scheme.

and an Israeli First Fighter Squadron P-51

Not sure which one will hit the shelves first, but watch for both real soon.

Do you have an All Canadian What If Mustang in mind?

All Canadian?

I already have a few Canadian planes...real ones.
(Might be adding another this week)

But I'm not sure what an All Canadian What If plane would be?
Please explain your idea.

Maybe one with a maple leaf all over the fuselage... or spread across the wings ... or something like that.

No, no plans to do anything like that.
Is there a reason why you would want one like that?

There are many Racer Mustangs with wild paint schemes,
but unfortunately they are usually modified P-51s.
I really don't want to start bothering with clipped wings, lengthened
fuselages or shaved canopies.

Maybe I will think about a fantasy paint scheme
but right now I am catching up on other stuff.
(Maybe a Canada/USA theme? hmm)

By special request...and a fun research project....

a NACA experimental Flight test and high altitude research F-51D.

Cool little models of wings and aerofoils were attached to mounts on the wings
for in-flight testing.  The Machine Gun bays in the wings were used to house
test and data recording equipment.

NACA is the predecessor of NASA. And this particular aircraft was one of many
flown by Bob Champine, one of NASA's top supersonic test pilots.  Considered
to be one with "the right stuff".

Model is available at www.papermodelshop.com

and here, at ecardmodels.com: http://www.ecardmodels.com/index.php/1-33-north-american-f-51d-mustang-naca-102-paper-model.html
