« on: January 02, 2014, 08:50:35 AM »

Built in 1850 in Kingston, Ontario for the Kingston-Toronto trade on Lake Ontario,
the Lake Steamer Maple Leaf was later converted for Union army transport during the American Civil War.

The 1/250 Model of the USS Maple Leaf is created by Magnus Mörck
and is available as a free download here: http://modelsnmoore.com/mmork.php

Model pictured below is a modified version of Magnus Mörck's model, representing the original Canadian
Lake Steamer...created and built by Fred Bultman (pm.com member royaloakmin)

Dear Air Dave and Group:
Never to old to learn, I did not know that the civil war ship was first a Canadian lake steamer. bet it used to dock at Lewiston or Youngstown NY. I downloaded this model years ago have to find what cd it is on and look at doing it.
Thanks,
MILES
