Ridiculousityness
« on: November 15, 2014, 08:49:36 AM »
Its called "art"...a "sculpture"...

I call it "a pile ...of laundry"
but what do I know?

Art...I don't get it.

The exhibition runs until January 4, 2015. (Reuters/Ivan Alvarado) ]

I wonder if they have paper models available from the gift shop.

I'm not a fan of 'art' that has to be explained.

Kansas City has a '1% for Art' rule.  You do any project over a certain dollar amount, and you have to designate 1% of the cost to art for the project.  We now have bizarre things in most public spaces.

One of the strangest ones, that is growing on me after something like 20 years is the Shuttlecocks at the Nelson Museum of Art

At least that one is whimsical, and now that the trees have grown, two of them can only be seen if you look for them

I have to admit...I like the BIG shuttlecocks.
I see imagination and whimsy in it.
I like BIG scale thing.

But piling up some old clothes is NOT sculpture.
Its not even creative.
Every teenager in College has one of the "sculptures" in his dorm room!

And almost every college student at one time or another has found a sock that will stand by itself

A pile of "Used clothing"?  I'm thinking that pace is probably going to smell just a little.  It isn't Art, he lives next door...
