well Rcav8tr2, what can I say?

Your thread has been ruined by the photobucket curse.
This will be the ruin of so many forums and sites that offer helpful tutorials and instructional series like this one.

I hope this doesn't discourage you from continuing your posts...
you'll just need to come up with a new image host.

I believe I am switching to imageshack...and purchasing a basic subscription.
I was/am a photobucket subscriber, so my images won't disappear until next year.
But I will be changing the images in as many therads as I can.

Feel free to continue posting here, in this thread if you like.
You are also welcome to start an entirely new thread, if you want a cleaner look.
Its up to you if you want to try to repost all the images...if so, I can remove this thread for you, when you are done.

Wow! Thanks Photobucket.  I've been busy with life and haven't checked my thread in months. So I figured I'd just get a Photobucket account for a few bucks, they want $399 per year to enable 3rd party hosting.  I don't think so!  What a shame for all of the instructional efforts people have put in.

I wonder if this share of photos in Photobucket will work.

Without a doubt.  They really fouled things up

Test using Dave's built in image posting or is this going to max out Dave's site?

Looks like postimage might work.  Opened a free account and linked one picture to this thread.  I need to investigate the limits further.

With postimage, which appears under the text editor, you can post images without an account, for free,
and it has no effect on me or this website.
The only drawback is the images are thumbnails and viewers have to click on them to view them larger (at postimage).
But I don't think that is a big problem for most.

Anyone, like me, can host their images at a dedicated site (I am going to use imageshack)
and then you can control larger images within your post (inline), and avoid outside viewing.
But that will cost you a little bit and is completely your decision.

For those who post less, or don't want to do any outside linking, the postimage option is a bonus.
And it has no bandwidth or storage effect on this forum.

Well, Photobucket ... Thanks a heap. I am finally starting my Centurion, and was giving this wonderful thread a read to get some insight. Then the pictures went away!!! Oh Well!

yeah...I know...I am faced with trying to swap thousands of photos across many boards.
and now photobucket is screwing around with the ability to download your own photos.
I've been trying for two weeks to save my albums from there...fotofucket says its a problem they are "working on". yeah right.

anyway...I hope Doug can use the photoimage attachments
or find another photo host and continue to update us with his build.

FYI my own build thread (on the Centurion) should be okay until mid-next year (photobucket wise)
and at some point I'll swap the photos to keep the thread intact.

Doug...seriously think about a new thread.
I now its a lot of work, but we would all appreciate the effort.
Get your photos uploaded to a new image host.
It is possible for me to swap the photos in this thread for you
...I will need direct links for every photo, hopefully with the same original filenames.
But its a ton of work to do that.
I'm thinking you could post a new thread - an abridged version, with newly hosted images.
Just post the essential stuff and catch up to where you are now.
??
I could then prune out this thread and post a redirect to your new one.
Think about it?
Hit me up for help if you need it.

I now have your build thread bookmarked so I can refer to it. It is always nice to see a couple of ways to do something.

Virtually every forum I am on (model engineering, model boats etc.) Has the same problem and it has become very annoying.

It will get worked out I am sure.

Hi Wagnmkr, good luck on your Centurion!  There is another Cent build thread here

http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/armory/31925-idf-shot-meteor.html?highlight=centurion

"Cardist" has added quite a bit of extra interior detailing.

Dave, I'd like to just update my photos and leave this thread if you don't mind.  Does this thread take too much space?  I have started updating photos from my new free postimage account as time permits.  I like having the whole story here, including comments from others.

Wgnmkr, I was searching for posts on your Centurion and bumped into your profile.  An Uncle and Aunt of mine owned a house on Balsam Lake south of Long Point, just down the road from you. I spent many summers on the lake and going into your town was a big event.  Fantastic area!
