To anyone who is still watching...? anyone?    chirp chirp chirp[sound of crickets]

Heres what I have added/completed so far:

- Finished the side Tube Pod things...all the dome ends have been attached.
- Assembled the Collector Arrays...solar energy collector panels I assume?

- Attached the Cockpit and forward fuselage section with Pylons (to the main fuselage).
- Attached the side Pod things.
- Fitted the four Collector panels.

There are "billboards" attached over the upper Collector Panels...in various images.
They appear to include many sponsors(?) logos.
Murphy has included these "billboard panels" on the Collector Panels (in his kit).

But there appears to be more panels than needed in the kit
...unless maybe he's included Panels without Billboards in case you wish to assemble it that way?
I'm not sure...so I went ahead and used the Billboard panels.

I'm taking a break from the Warp Rings...and I'll work on the upper and lower (central) fuselage Pod things.
and the rear most engine/drive assembly.

Stay tuned.

That look really good so far, it will be interesting to see it when you get the ring installed.

well, isn't this an interesting thing....

I continued yesterday to redraw the parts for the "Landers".
Thats what Murph calls them on his model sheets.
They are the acorn shaped pods on the "top" and "bottom" of the fuselage.

...
I don't know what they are...but Murph's artwork, again, is pixelated, and lines are wiggly.
I needed to redraw the parts again...as you can see (upper right area of the following screengrab).

You'll also notice underneath the Acorn parts, I've started work redrawing the "Exhaust Bells".
Murph's model sheet shows on the left of the image.

Which brings me to today...I continued working on the Exhaust parts redraw, which is a tedious and time consuming job.
Once I get the outer sections done, I have to figure out the inner liners?
Murph's design for outside and inside part is not correct...the inner parts should be smaller to fit.
And then theres the tabbed joiners...I don't like those either. lol
And conical parts like this will require at least one test build to see if I got the redraw accurate or not.

Anyway, I decided to check the overall colour...maybe add some colour effect of other surface details,
so I went looking for images of the IXS Enterprise...Rademakers original designs.

And thats when I ran into a problem...since I could not immediately find images that showed the engines of the spaceship.
So I am curious as to the reference material Murphy used and where he found it.

I had to widen my search for pictures, and I ended up going through a lot of Rademakers older designs.
he has a couple of Flikr galleries with his 3D artwork.
Seems this spacecraft has evolved through many incarnations and many 3D CGI models.
Some elements have stayed basically the same...some have changed dramatically.

Eventually I found a few shots of the "sub lightspeed engines" and back end of the ship.
And it really doesn't look anything like Murph's design!

Although there are differing designs by Rademaker, the overall look of the sub-light engines stays the same.
And there is no large bell shaped Exhaust Nozzle like on Murph's design..
In fact, Murph's design is extremely different.

...
So, I've decided to try and create a whole new set of parts.
Its probably no more work than finishing the redraw of Murph's existing parts.

But it will be a heck of a lot easier to assemble (than those rings and conical nozzle!)

I'm not going to get too carried away with details or complicated structures.
It wouldn't match the rest of Murph's model.
But I will try to create something that looks more like Rademaker's design.
