I see these two images, I cannot click on them, and if I right click for properties, the location takes me to that image, not an album

excellent!
I am uploading some images to imageshack this morning,
and all is going nicely.
The process to create albums and upload images is very easy.

And getting codes/linking/posting images is simple enough.

Looks like this might be an acceptable option for image hosting.
If all continues to go well, I'll pay the 18.99/year subscription.

I just modified an entire thread...removed all the photobucket linked images
and replaced them with imageshack linked images.

http://cutandfold.info/cutandfoldforum/index.php?topic=670.0

Thought it would be interesting to see how much work is involved.
Since, on this forum, I have access to edit old posts.

Not a big thread...only a couple of pages...about 50 images in total
...but still big enough that it takes some time to get all the pictures changed.
I would hate to do a real big thread, but it might have to be done at some point.

At least it allows me to keep some of the tutorial threads intact.
And I can recopy those threads onto other forums.

Vermin, yesterday(?) you posted my Mustang model and reposted my photobucket image.
Lets stop using photobucket images since they are going to get blocked soon.
This includes reposting already posted (photobucket) images.

Its bad enough that photobucket is going to ruin so many threads across so many forums,
and its not your fault,
but maybe we shouldn't add any more posts that contain photobucket images.

Over the next months I am going to to try to change as many images in posts and threads as I can.
Obviously this is the only forum where I can do this...but its a lot of images!!!
if I get all my own done, I might even try to fix a few of other people's posts (if I can get my hands on the correct images).

To any forum member (if you are reading this)...
if you have a messed up (photobucketed) thread you want to fix, and you have images hosted at a new location,
feel free to ask us about swapping your images.
I don't mind helping you out and helping the forum retain its purpose.

Just contact me or any mod and let us know.

Another test image/link...

I use mediafire for files, like koolwheelz PDFs.
I store all kinds of stuff there.
But I have never used mediafire for image storage/linking.

The process to get an image URL (direct link) is tedious) ....but if it works?...

It all depends on whether mediafire will tolerate the third party linking like this.
If so, I wouldn't mind upgrading my mediafire account and using them.

Can you see the image above?

right...okay...

what about this then?

I submitted a ticket to mediafire...asked them about getting the code for direct linking to share images on the forum
without directly asking them about third party linking.
I figured this would alert them to my intentions and give them the opportunity to restrict me from doing that.
Since many file and image host sites restrict third party linking (check your host carefully).

Anyway, I got the standard automated response from Support...and less than an hour later (WOW!) got a full answer.
They directed me to where I can find the actual "direct link" and told me I can post my photos on the forum no problem.

Seems, the URL address of an image differs from the direct link by the addition of an "s".
https versus http

You should be able to see the image I just posted because it has https:// at the front.

Anyway...looks like I may be dropping the imageshack idea and signing up for a business account at mediafire.
Its less than $4 a month with the 50% discount for the first year.
And I have already been using mediafire for more than ten years.
All my model files are already there.

This is my big smiley face. Something went right today.
